Medical Equipment for the "Green Grove"-orphanage

Orphanage "Green Grove"

Crises always affect the poorest especially hard. That is the case in the Ukraine as well, where over 60 percent of the population have to live below the poverty line. Social and health standards crumble, orphanages can only hardly sustain themselves.

The orphanage "Green Grove" was founded in 1967 as is located in the little town of Visokiy in crisis-struck Eastern Ukraine, some 20 kilometers from Kharkiv, the second-largest Ukrainian city. It takes care of more than 100 babies and children aged to seven years with physical or mental handicaps or suffering from severe diseases such as Aids. Due to their various diseases, the children are care-dependent and need permanent medical treatment.

The orphanage is run by a competent and dedicated team and by and large in good shape. However, the children suffering from neurological diseases like multiple sclerosis, Parkinson or cerebral palsy urgently needed new medical equipment for their physio-therapeutical care. The H. Stepic CEE Charity decided to support the orphanage in the scope of its Special FOCUS Ukraine by replacing the partially obsolete medical equipment with new and more modern equipment, thereby not only significantly improving the children's medical care, but also their overall quality of life.
